Chris Broussard & Rob Parker were just as confused as anyone else when Magic Johnson essentially surprised everyone including Jeanie Buss by stepping down from his position as President of Basketball Operations.
Magic Johnson expressed that he was unable to be a mentor and ambassador to everyone. He also didn't like what he described as backstabbing and whispering. He wanted to go back to being himself and felt this position was very limiting, plus he wasn't comfortable having people's lives in his hands and didn't want to have to decide to change that.
Rob Parker thinks much of this seems to be a power struggle between Jeanie Buss and Magic and its all centered around the job of Luke Walton. Chris Broussard and Rob try to figure out what the Lakers need to do right now to quickly get themselves out of this mess.
