Donald Trump Says NFL Players Disrespecting Flag & Anthem Hurts Viewership

On round 2 of Clay Travis with U.S. President Donald Trump, they covered a lot of ground with the return of Big-Ten football. Clay also managed to get Trump's opinion on the debut of Tom Brady for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Trump immediately jumped on the NFL's low TV ratings and attributed it to NFL players' refusal to stand for the flag:

Clay Travis: "Did you watch Tom Brady play with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers?"

Donald Trump: "I did, I watched, but football is way down ratings wise because people are not gonna stand for this stuff anymore where they're not respecting our flag and our National Anthem. They're not going to stand for it. Ratings were way down. I did watch Tom. I like Tom a lot and I think he'll be fine. I guess it was a break-in game. The other team is a good team with a good quarterback and it was an interesting game."

The conversation continues as they talk about the divorce between Tom Brady and Bill Belichick and wonder who will ultimately come out on top when the dust settles. Trump expresses his admiration for the coaching of Bill Belichick and is pleased with the coach's endorsement of his presidency.
