The Number 1 pick of the NBA Draft seems to be living up the burden that comes with the selection. DeAndre Ayton of the Phoenix Suns made his debut putting up a decent statistical clinic as he comfortably dropped 24 points and nine rebounds utilizing alley-oops, outside shots, bodying up down under and finishing at the rim. Another interesting observation is his defensive capabilities. Ayton managed to get three blocks in his first two games so while he's touted as being mostly offense-minded, these blocking numbers are a good sign if he keeps it up. The next step will be holding his opponents at his position below their averages and keeping smaller players out of the paint.
Be sure to mark your calendars for November 19th this year because the battle between Ayton and Joel Embiid is something you don't want to miss.
