Jerry Stackhouse Agrees to Coach Vanderbilt

According to ESPN, Vanderbilt's athletic director had been observing Jerry Stackhouse closely during his former job as president of the NBA's G-League.

It's one of the reasons why Stackhouse now has a six-year contract to take over as head coach for Vanderbilt. His coaching style was described as intense during his tenure with the Raptors 905 of the G-League which he succeeded in winning a title with in 2017.

The hiring has been described as a move to mirror their rivals, Memphis who recently acquired Anfernee 'Penny' Hardaway as head coach. Stackhouse boasts an 18-year career as a player with the NBA and two years as an assistant coach in the league as well.
