NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski reports that:
Houston Rockets have been on a rollercoaster ride all season having a really tough time getting wins early on. Then the team lost Chris Paul to injury whose timetable has him returning towards the end of January into early February. They started getting on a roll with James Harden leading the way dropping 40 point games left and right but have now suffered another setback with Clint Capela.
Rockets now hold the 6th place position in a tight, competitive western conference and here are the following teams the rockets have to fend off:
- San Antonio Spurs
- Los Angeles Lakers
- Utah Jazz
- Sacramento Kings
- Minnesota Timberwolves
- New Orleans Pelicans
It's a bizarro season where last years playoff teams are just outside the playoff picture however it's so tight that two teams just outside of the top 8 are +.500 teams with 4 teams below them not too far behind. Hopefully, the Rockets can hold on.
