Don't Cater to LeBron James By Adding Pricey Veterans Like Andre Iguodala

Colin Cowherd: “When you get LeBron -- and this is what has happened in Cleveland twice, Miami, and the Lakers -- you have to get rid of ALL the young guys and get all these veterans who can win now. Then LeBron leaves you as a MESS. It took Pat Riley 6 years just to get interesting again in the East after LeBron left… I don’t think the Lakers beat the Clippers this year, and NEXT year LeBron will be on his 18th year, Rondo is on life support, Dudley is on life support, Dwight Howard – c’mon. You trade Kyle Kuzma and you have no fresh legs. The Lakers said at one point they wanted Andre Iguodala. REALLY? Another old and expensive guy?! We know LeBron is great, but man, when you cater to his every wish, sometimes he leaves and it’s a decade to clean it up. Be careful trading Kuzma for another ‘old guy’, because if the Lakers don’t win it this year, next year is what? Have you noticed Brandon Ingram is having a hell of a year this year?” (Full Video Above)

Listen to Colin Cowherd explain why he thinks the Los Angeles Lakers made a good move by not trading 24-year-old Kyle Kuzma at the Trade Deadline in any deal that would have involved veteran former Grizzlies forward Andre Iguodala.

Despite Iguodala having a championship pedigree from his days on the Golden State Warriors dynasty, and despite Iggy potentially being the last piece of the puzzle for a Lakers team trying to win an NBA Finals RIGHT NOW, Colin thinks it would have been a mistake for LA to trade its most talented young player just to cater to LeBron’s desperate championship needs at the end of his prime.

Check out the video above as Colin details why caving to LeBron’s demands is sometimes a huge mistake, as the Cavaliers and Heat were sent back to the Stone Age when he left town and left the franchise was left with practically zero assets.
