(Full Audio at Bottom of Page) Listen to Clay Travis explain why he believes the Carolina Panthers should make a blockbuster trade before the 2020 NFL Draft to acquire the number one overall pick.
The Panthers are currently without a quarterback despite quickly plugging in head coach Matt Rhule and offensive coordinator Joe Brady into their revamped staff this offseason.
Clay believes the team should not only move off former NFL MVP Cam Newton, who Clay says will be the next Andrew Luck type player to retire early, but go and get Joe Burrow at number one.
Carolina has the seventh overall pick and Clay thinks a very imposing trade package to Cincinnati would be the Panthers offering All-Pro running back Christian McCaffrey and the Panthers’ no. 7 pick for the Bengals’ no. 1 pick.
Clay thinks it would be an interesting scenario to see Burrow reunite with his LSU play caller Joe Brady, and thinks the Bengals could get a very enticing package that would give them the scariest backfield in the league with McCaffrey and Joe Mixon, with a chance to possibly draft Tua Tagovailoa or Justin Herbert with the pick they got from Carolina.
Check out the audio below as Clay details why this trade offer could send shockwaves through the entire league.
