Phil Jackson Should Take All the Blame For 90's Bulls Dynasty Ending

Ric Bucher: “Phil Jackson is the reason the dynasty ended and why they didn’t get a chance for a four-peat… Jerry Reinsdorf was willing to overrule Jerry Krause and say ‘Michael, Phil, you guys earned the chance to come back and try one more time’ and Phil said ‘I’m good’, ‘it’s time’, and ‘I need a break.’ So, Ultimately he’s the one who decided ‘I’m good and I don’t need to coach Michael another year’ and Michael said he’s not going to play for anyone other than Phil so that was the end of it… I think Phil couldn’t believe that they ultimately got in done in 1998, and when they did, he realized they were not going to be able to do this again, I’m ready to go out on top, and I don’t want to be here dying on the vine with Michael, so let’s move on him. I think the documentary clarified that.” (Full Video Above)

Listen to longtime NBA insider Ric Bucher explain to Colin Cowherd why he thinks Phil Jackson was the sole reason the 90’s Bulls were broken up, and the person 100% blame for Michael Jordan and company not getting a chance to go for a fourth consecutive championship in 1998-1999.

Bucher says Bulls owner Jerry Reinsdorf made it clear in the documentary that he was going to overrule Bulls GM Jerry Krause in giving the team one more year to win it all again, but Jackson was the one who didn’t want to come back.

Check out the video above as Bucher details why he believes Phil left because he didn’t think the team could win another championship.
