Listen to NFL Vegas sharps RJ Bell and Steve Fezzik join Jonas Knox on ‘Straight Out of Vegas’ to preview the 28th ranked team on their 2020 win/total predictions, the New York Giants.
The Giants officially begin the Daniel Jones era in New York with the retirement of two-time Super Bowl winning quarterback Eli Manning.
The disastrous Pat Shurmur era yielded just 9 wins in two full seasons, as the once proud franchise has gone 12-36 the last three seasons, including 6 under-.500 seasons in the last 7 years.
Jones will pair up with former Nick Saban and Bill Belichick decibel, Joe Judge, as both quarterback and coach seemed like huge long shots to be leading one of the league’s most glamorous franchises just a year ago.
Jones was thought to be one of the worst draft picks of the decade when he became the second quarterback taken off the board in the 2019 NFL Draft, ahead of Heisman finalist Dwayne Haskins. A year later, and Jones is considered a reliable young starter and Haskins is battling with Kyle Allen just to start for the lowly Washington football team.
Judge comes from a special teams background with the New England Patriots, and will look to rebuild a Giants roster that boasts All-Pro running back Saquon Barkley and not much else.
New York’s OVER/UNDER win total is 6 wins for 2020, they’re 95-1 odds to win the Super Bowl, 9-1 to win the NFC East, and 9/2 to make the playoffs.
