Colin Cowherd Says Russell Westbrook is Not a 'Valuable' Player

Colin Cowherd: “Last night Houston played their best game in the Bubble and Westbrook was gone. They shot three’s effectively. Why? Because Westbrook didn’t take any. Their defense was also great. I always thought his MVP was nonsense. The most ‘VALUABLE’ player in the league for ten years was easily LeBron, and it’s not even arguably. What is Westbrook? Is he exciting? Hell yea. Is he athletic? He might be the league’s most athletic guy. Is he interesting? He’s kind of fascinating. Is he productive? VERY. Is he respected? Yes, absolutely, players love him. But is he VALUABLE? Ehhh. Oklahoma City got better when he left, Kevin Durant got more efficient when he left, Victor Oladipo became an All-Star when he left, and Sabonis became an All-Star. He checks a million boxes but he doesn’t check the ‘valuable’ box.” (Full Segment Above)

Listen to Colin Cowherd explain why he believes Russell Westbrook is obviously one of the most exciting, fascinating, and productive players in the NBA, but why he doesn’t actually believe Westbrook is ‘VALUABLE’ to the team he is on.

Check out the audio above as Colin details why it’s becoming more and more obvious that all of Westbrook’s teammates get BETTER when Westbrook is gone, including his own Houston Rockets, who blew out the Thunder in Game 1 on Tuesday without his services.
