Clay Travis Won't Buy Madden 2021 Because of Colin Kaepernick's High Rating

Clay Travis: “This is just evidence of blatant sports propaganda and they are spreading fundamental dishonesty, which is that Colin Kaepernick is better than half of the starters in the NFL. You can say it’s a cheap marketing ploy, but marketing ploys at least in some way should have honesty associated with them. This is fundamentally dishonest, and frankly I usually buy the Madden video game for my kids, but I don’t want to do it this year. If they beg me I’ll probably end up relenting and doing it but there’s not that much difference between the ’20 and the ’21 versions of the game. I’ll probably, if I can, not buy it if my kids don’t ask for it. It’s literally something that would lead to me not spending my money. I can’t imagine there are any parents out there that are like ‘ALRIGHT! THANK GOD COLIN KAEPERNICK IS IN THE GAME NOW, HERE’S 60 BUCKS!’ I would think there were a lot of parents like me who are like ‘ehh, we will just play with the ’20 version… This decision by Madden makes me less likely to buy the video game.” (Full Segment Above)

Listen to Clay Travis explain why he no longer will be interested in buying Madden 2021 for his young kids after EA Sports announced that Colin Kaepernick would be featured as a free agent in the game with an ‘81’ rating.

Despite having not appeared in an NFL game since January 1st, 2017, Kaepernick’s 81 rating is the same as Ben Roethlisberger, and higher than the rating of perennial Pro Bowl quarterbacks Cam Newton, Jared Goff, Derek Carr, Ryan Tannehill, Josh Allen, and Kyler Murray.

Check out the audio above as Clay calls Kaepernick’s generously-rated player inclusion ‘blatant propaganda’, and says the dishonesty on EA Sports’ part would lead him not to buy the game for his kids as a parent.
