ESPN Analyst Makes Disturbing Comments About Josh Allen Supporters

Domonique Foxworth: “I am fully aware that I have biases. And my biases are not based on Josh Allen, it’s based on the people defending Josh Allen. I would be 100% lying if I said when Josh does something dumb, a little part of me doesn’t get happy. It is not because I don’t want Josh to succeed, it’s because the people who are telling me that Josh is the ‘second coming’, and Josh is better than everybody, are people with American flags, and dogs, and skulls and crossbones in their avi’s, and when you go take a dip into their tweet history there’s some really concerning retweets and likes.”

Clay Travis: “He is rooting against Josh Allen and he enjoys when Josh Allen fails because people who root for Josh Allen, in their social media profiles, have pictures of the American flag and dogs. I can’t think of anything that is less controversial to have in your profile picture on social media than an American flag, and a dog. Imagine if a White ESPN employee had gone on an ESPN podcast and he had said ‘I root against Lamar Jackson because of what I see people posting on their avatars on social media'? He would be fired immediately… I don’t believe in ‘cancel culture’ but if a White guy says the exact same thing as what Domonique Foxworth just said about Josh Allen, and he says it about Lamar Jackson, he’s fired within five minutes from ESPN. This is a stupid comment for Domonique Foxworth to say, and I don’t believe in cancel culture, but what I do believe in is everybody being held to the same standard regardless of their race, their gender, their ethnicity, where they were born, and what job they have. Why can Dominuqie Foxworth say he’s rooting against Josh Allen because Josh Allen supporters have American flag and dog pictures in their avatars, and it’s completely acceptable, but if the same thing were said by a White analyst about Lamar Jackson he would be fired immediately and be the number one story in all of sports?” (Full Segment Above)

Listen to Clay Travis discuss ESPN host Domonique Foxworth’s recent viral remarks on Bills quarterback Josh Allen, as Foxworth went on Bomani Jones’ podcast and said that he doesn’t root for Josh Allen because Allen's supporters on Twitter have either ‘American flags’, ‘dogs’ or ‘skull and crossbones’ in their avatar pictures, and have some 'really concerning retweets and likes' in their timelines.

Clay says if a White analyst made the same uncanny proclamation about Lamar Jackson supporters on Twitter he’d be fired by ESPN immediately and be the number one story in all of sports.

Bills player Jordan Poyer even acknowledged the bizarre soundbite on his Twitter, re-quoting a tweet from Clay with Poyer tweeting:

“Hold up bruh... we not jus letting this slide, yeah?! @espn this what we on now in the sports world!? @Foxworth24 we gotta do better my brother... cause this ain’t it.”

Foxworth eventually responded to Poyer’s tweet later on Wednesday, tweeting back:

"Nobody I respect has taken this seriously so I've been ignoring it. And getting taken out of context kinda comes with my job, so I haven't been trippin. But I respect you and the ppl in your building and it bothers that yall have spent 1 sec thinking about this disingenuous BS. Feel free to DM me, listen to the full podcast, or ignore this foolishness all together and get back to ballin. Best of luck to you and my new favorite QB."

Check out the video above as Clay details what a double-standard this story presents, and why the media should be much more critical of Foxworth's ignorant remarks given what the reaction would have been if the races were reversed with a White analyst and a Black quarterback.
