Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger isn't quite ready to end his NFL career. According to ESPN'sAdam Schefter, the 38-year-old signal-caller intends to finish out his contract and return for his 18th NFL season in 2021.
While the Steelers got off to an 11-0 start, Roethlisberger has a QBR of 63.4, which is 20th in the league. He ranks 31st in the league with just 6.3 yards per pass attempt but is tied for seventh in the league with 29 touchdown passes. He has only been sacked 11 times this season and is still able to evade rushing defenders and extend plays.
There was some concern from Steelers fans that he might call it quits, based on his post-game comments after the Steelers' 26-15 loss to the Buffalo Bills, which was the team's second-straight loss following the 11-0 start.
"If I don't play good enough football, I need to hang it up," Roethlisberger said.
According to Schefter, the two-time Super Bowl loves his current team and is still having fun as he chases a third ring. He could help the Steelers get one step closer to that dream on Monday night. A win against the 2-10-1 Cincinnati Bengals would give the Steelers their eighth NFC North title.
