Old Giannis Interview Leaks Saying He Wants to Stay With Bucks to Win Title

Colin Cowherd: “LeBron goes to the Lakers, as a basketball ‘fan’ do you like it?”
Giannis Antetokounmpo: “I was, like Stephen A. Smith says, ‘SHOCKED’ but he made a decision that he thought was better for his basketball future and his family future, and who am I to judge? He’s the best player in the world right now so who am I to judge?”
Colin: “Would you ever leave Milwaukee if the Lakers came calling?”
Giannis: “To be honest with you, NO, no way.”
Colin: “How come?”
Giannis: “I like finishing the stuff I have with Milwaukee. My goal is to win in Milwaukee and bring a championship to the city, and make the team a lot better, so I will never leave for LA.”
Colin: “Do you think it’s selling out, Giannis, when Kevin Durant joins a loaded team? Does that bother you, that kind of player mobility?”
Giannis: “No, it doesn’t bother me. They can do whatever they want to do. I don’t know the behind-the-scenes stuff so I can’t judge every situation. KD thought it was the right move to move to Golden State so he did. I think the right move for me is to stay in Milwaukee so that’s what I’m going to do.”

Check out this dated interview with Giannis Antetokounmpo and Colin Cowherd on The Herd in July of 2018, as Giannis makes it clear that he doesn’t want to team up with other stars on a ‘Super Team’, and just wants to win a championship in Milwaukee.

On Tuesday night Giannis became the ninth player in NBA history to have two MVPs and an NBA Finals MVP to his name, and became just the seventh player ever to score 50+ points in an NBA Finals game.
