Tony Khan Wore a Neck Brace in Jaguars' Draft War Room After AEW Segment
All Elite Wrestling CEO, President, General Manager and Head of Creative Tony Khan was seen wearing a neck brace in the Jacksonville Jaguars' war room during the 2024 NFL Draft hours after an in-ring segment on 'Dynamite' Wednesday (April 25) night.
Khan, the son of Jaguars majority owner Shad Khan and the franchise's chief football strategy officer, was given a piledriver (named 'Tony Khan Driver' prior to the segment) by AEW World Tag Team Champions and company executive vice presidents 'The Young Bucks' (Matthew and Nicholas Jackson) after being attacked by a returning Jack Perry, who was previously suspended for his role in a real life backstage incident with CM Punk, who was later fired and has since returned to WWE. The 41-year-old was shown wearing a neck brace the following night during NFL Network live draft coverage.
"Tony Khan becomes the first ever NFL executive in a draft room shaking off the effects of a piledriver he received on national television in a wrestling ring the night before," NFL Network anchor Rich Eisen said.
ESPN's Pat McAfee, who works as a color commentator for WWE, also acknowledged Khan wearing the neck brace to sell the move, which had previously been name 'the Meltzer Driver' in honor of veteran wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer before being renamed.
Khan, the Young Bucks, Kenny Omega and current Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Cody Rhodes -- who left the company to return to WWE in 2022 -- launched AEW in 2019, which has served as the most popular alternative to WWE since it purchased rival World Championship Wrestling in 2001.
