Jalen Johnson Opting Out Proves College Basketball is Dead and Irrelevant

Chris Broussard: “A lot of people have been criticizing this kid saying he’s a 'quitter', and taking shots at him questioning his decision and maybe his character. What are your thoughts?”
Rob Parker: “The people doing that are doing that mostly because it’s another blow to college basketball. COLLEGE BASKETBALL IS OFFICIALLY DEAD. It doesn’t matter anymore and a lot of people don’t want to hear that… They’re coming down on this kid because it’s a black eye to college basketball. This was always a bad idea when they made those kids go to school for one year.”
Broussard: “This is showing the increasing irrelevance of college basketball because he will still get drafted, most likely in the first round… Kyrie Irving only played 11 games at Duke, number one pick in the Draft, superstar, and future Hall of Famer. James Wiseman only played three games and looks great at Golden State. LaMelo Ball played in Lithuania and looks like he’s going to be a star. Ben Simmons stopped playing halfway through his season at LSU and they didn’t make the tournament. Things have changed… The college basketball establishment is upset but this kid has done nothing wrong.” (Full Video Above)

Listen to Chris Broussard and Rob Parker defend the now-former Duke Blue Devil, Jalen Johnson, who has been getting raked through the coals the last 24 hours when it was revealed that the highly touted freshman is opting out of the rest of Duke’s season to get ready for the NBA Draft.

Duke currently sits at 8-8 on the season and would have to win the ACC Tournament to make the NCAA Tournament.

Check out the video above as Rob and Chris detail why college basketball sycophants who are blasting Johnson need to realize that college basketball is ‘dead’ and ‘irrelevant’, and accept that not all young players need to be battle-tested as a 19-year-old collegiate to have success in the NBA.
