49ers Are Reportedly Leaning Towards Drafting Mac Jones With the No. 3 Pick

Daniel Jeremiah of NFL Network was on The Rich Eisen Show Monday discussing the 2021 NFL Draft, and detailing reports of the 49ers showing great interest in drafting Alabama quarterback Mac Jones with the no. 3 pick.

Jones has mostly been the no. 5 quarterback on most people’s draft boards for the entirety of the season, and well into the offseason, behind Trevor Lawrence, Zach Wilson, Justin Fields, and Trey Lance, but there has been a recent surge of interest around the National Champion winning quarterback who is suddenly vaulting up the boards of everyone’s mock drafts.

The 49ers made a massive blockbuster deal last week to move up the no. 3 pick, which is almost certainly a move to draft either Jones, Fields, or Lance at quarterback, and begin their breakup with lukewarm incumbent Jimmy Garoppolo.

Check out the segment above as Jeremiah details why there are grumblings that San Francisco made that huge trade to move up and take Jones.
