Colin Cowherd: “Everybody keeps telling me Brady is going to leave and everybody keeps telling me Josh McDaniels is going to leave. Are we sure Bill Belichick wants to stick around?? Belichick wanted to move off Brady two years ago and was told by the owner that he couldn’t. Belichick is always ahead of the curve and watches all these guys like Lamar Jackson, Patrick Mahomes, Deshaun Watson, and Josh Allen do cool things and he’s got 42-year-old Tom Brady who can’t make plays when things break down. The Giants don’t have a coach yet, and he has history there. If Belichick was on the market, how many teams WOULDN’T go after him… Four?? If Robert Kraft forces him to re-sign a 42-year-old, are we sure Belichick is sticking around? He’s got a little more leverage than everybody thinks here.” (Full Video Above)
Listen to Colin Cowherd explain why he believes New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick should think about jumping ship on a sinking Patriots vessel that could soon begin a rebuilding process in the wake of one of the greatest dynasties in sports history.
There is much speculation behind the exits of quarterback Tom Brady and offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, but Colin thinks Belichick could be another domino falling from the weakening franchise.
Colin says a market for Belichick would be gargantuan, and says it could be one final act of rebellion from Belichick to Patriots owner Robert Kraft, if he’s not content with the team’s next quarterback, or even better, doesn’t want to go any further with a 42-year-old rapidly aging Brady that Belichick wanted gone two years ago.
