Cowboys Franchise Will Slowly Wilt if They Sign Dak Prescott Long Term

Colin Cowherd: “The Cowboys have apparently decided that they want to live a life with no margin for error… The Cowboys reportedly want a long-term deal for Dak Prescott and will pay him $33-$35 million. That’s what you pay Russell Wilson, that’s NOT what you pay Dak. For the next 3-4 years they’re going to have to go into the Draft and nail second, third, fourth, and fifth round picks, and they don’t do that. You cannot pay top dollar on the market for a quarterback, a running back, a left tackle, a right guard, a defensive end, a wide receiver, and a linebacker because you know what is going to happen and it’s incredibly predictable; just go ask the LA Rams. Once you have seven players getting paid top of the market you get perilously thin, and you start to erode fast as the season goes on.” (Full Video Above)

Listen to Colin Cowherd explain why the Dallas Cowboys will be making a huge mistake if they go through with re-signing quarterback Dak Prescott to a lucrative long-term extension as Colin not only believes that Prescott doesn’t deserve to be paid that exclusively, but also believes the Cowboys payroll can’t withstand another contract that bloated.

Check out the video above as Colin details why he thinks the Cowboys are steering towards a 2019 Los Angeles Rams type collapse, as the Rams slowly faded last season with a top heavy roster that was plagued by huge contracts.
