Colin Cowherd: Dak Prescott Has Never Elevated His Cowboys Teammates

Colin Cowherd: “Teams in leagues with salary caps get bad fast when they sign ‘good’ players – Dak Prescott – to ‘GREAT’ contracts. It’s like the Ravens signing ‘good’ Joe Flacco to a ‘GREAT’ contract. They weren’t the same for three years… Any time an offensive lineman is hurt, any time Zeke is suspended, or pre-Amari Cooper, I’ve never seen Dak carry the team. I have seen Russell Wilson, Aaron Rodgers, and Patrick Mahomes carry bad defenses, Deshaun Watson carry his team with a terrible offensive line, Carson Wentz with deck chairs and lawn furniture get Philadelphia to the playoffs. More than ever, I want to franchise Dak, and see him without a great center… Every time someone gets hurt or suspended, Dak’s numbers go down. He does not have the ability to take average parts and elevate them.” (Full Video Above)

Listen to Colin Cowherd explain why he thinks the Dallas Cowboys should keep the franchise tag on quarterback Dak Prescott, as the team is reportedly moving towards a possible deal with Dak that would make him the highest paid player in the NFL.

Colin says the easiest way to kill a team in a league with a salary cap is to award ‘good’ players with ‘great’ deal, the same way the Ravens threw big money at Joe Flacco, only to see the limited talented tank the team’s payroll the next few years.

Check out the video above as Colin details the shortcomings of Dak, and says he’s never had the talents to single-handedly elevate his Cowboys teammates like elite quarterbacks in his desired pay scale.
