Herd Hierarchy: Colin Cowherd Ranks the Top 10 NFL Teams Heading into 2020

Top 10 NFL Teams Post-Draft According to Colin Cowherd:

10. Denver Broncos

“They won 4 of their last 5 games, and remember, Bradley Chubb – their number one pick a couple years ago missed 12 game. He now returns with Von Miller as two elite edge rushers. They got Jerry Jeudy, my favorite wide receiver in the Draft, and they had a sneaky good free agency by adding Melvin Gordon, defensive tackle Jurrell Casey, who is underrated, and AJ Bouye the corner. Denver is a top 10 team in the NFL.”

9. Minnesota Vikings

“They lost some defensive players, but they got two starters in the first round of the Draft with Justin Jefferson and Jeff Gladney. Kirk Cousins finally won a big game in New Orleans. I don’t know if they’re a Super Bowl team but they’re number 9.”

8. Los Angeles Chargers

“The Chargers had a sneaky good free agency, adding Pro Bowl guard Trea Turner, left tackle Bryan Bulaga, and a tremendous corner in Chris Harris. Then they moved up in the Draft to get a starting linebacker from Oklahoma, Kenneth Murray. Remember, Tyrod Taylor has a winning career record in the NFL, and that’s with re-building Cleveland and Buffalo. This is a really good football team.”

7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

“Again, sneaky. They won 4 of their last 6 games last year despite Jameis Winston’s turnovers. They added Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski, and I thought they had a great Draft. Tristan Wirfs will start at right tackle, Antoine Winfield Jr. will start at safety, and they brought in another running back Ke'Shawn Vaughn from Vanderbilt to go alongside Ronald Jones.”

6. Seattle Seahawks

“I may have them lower than they deserve. Russell Wilson came off his best year, just having the lowest season of interceptions for his career. Jordyn Brooks, the linebacker from Texas Tech will start. They also brought corner Quinton Dunbar in free agency, who will start, tight end Greg Olsen, and Brandon Shell, a right tackle. Seattle was very good at the end of last year and I think they solved some of their weaknesses.”

5. Philadelphia Eagles

“I don’t really care about their Draft picks past the first round with that being Jalen Reagor the TCU receiver, because he will start. They also brought in a top corner Darius Slay, and they brought in a sneaky wide receiver Marquise Goodwin from San Francisco. He’s not a 1, but he’s a sneaky good wide receiver who can be your three.”

4. New Orleans Saints

“They were a very good football team that brought in Emmanuel Sanders and Malcolm Jenkins, two starters and two total adult grownups; love it. Then they go out and get Zack Baun, the linebacker from Wisconsin, who was a former high school quarterback that turned into a tackling machine for the Badgers. Then Cesar Ruiz, who is a better pass blocker than run blocking center from Michigan, but he should start.”

3. San Francisco 49ers

“They got rid of DeForest Buckner in a trade to Indy, then they go out and get Javon Kinlaw, a defensive tackle to replace him. Then they add a Pro Bowl left tackle in Trent Williams who Kyle Shanahan knows from DC. They lost Emmanuel Sanders and drafted wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk, an explosive receiver. It looks like San Francisco is no worse off than last year.”

2. Kansas City Chiefs

“They didn’t have to make a bunch of moves as they'll bring back 20 of 22 starters. The Super Bowl champs don’t have a lot of spaces. They did upgrade at running back getting Clyde Edwards-Helaire, who is an excellent pass-catching running back, and perfect for Andy Reid’s system. They don’t have a lot of areas of need. The area that I think they could use a little help is running back but they added a guy who could be a potential starter very soon.”

1. Baltimore Ravens

“I think the Ravens have had an unbelievable off-season. They brought in Calais Campbell, who is just a terrific player for them, then they add Patrick Queen, a linebacker from LSU who’s just a thumper. I don’t LOVE JK Dobbins as much as I loved Jonathan Taylor from Wisconsin, but he will play immediately. This is a team who underachieved in the playoffs but played really good football from game 1 to the end of the season.”
