Report: LeBron James Broke NBA Rules Holding Private Workout With Teammates

According to a report from The Athletic's Shams Charania, LeBron James has been hosting private on-court workouts with a couple of his Los Angeles Lakers teammates. Charania said that everybody involved in the workouts has been tested for the coronavirus and that the players are abiding by social distancing guidelines.

According to Yahoo! SportsLeBron and his teammates may be in violation of rules issued by the NBA at the end of April. Those guidelines stipulated that group activities such as practices and scrimmages are not permitted and that players are "prohibited from using non-team facilities."

The players could also be in violation of stay at home orders in California, which forced all gyms and fitness centers to close.

Charania did not say where the workouts occurred or describe what types of drills the players ran. He added that some of the players from the Los Angeles Clippers were also working out together so they can develop chemistry on the court and be in shape when the season restarts.
