2020 NFL Team Previews According to Vegas Sharps: Houston Texans

Listen to NFL Vegas sharps RJ Bell and Steve Fezzik join Jonas Knox on ‘Straight Out of Vegas’ to preview the 24th ranked team on their 2020 win/total prediction rankings, the Houston Texans.

For a 10-win team who was victimized by a Patrick Mahomes second-half miracle to be denied a trip to the AFC title game, expectations for 2020 appear surprisingly aloof for this Houston Texans teams according to the guys, who have the Texans ranked 24th of their rankings.

The Houston offseason was defined by their shocking trade that sent fan favorite DeAndre Hopkins to the Arizona Cardinals in one of the most unexpected trades in league history.

The Texans also sent a fourth round pick to Arizona in the trade, getting back former All-Pro running back David Johnson, a 2020 second round pick, and a 2021 fourth-rounder.

The Texans needed a running back with Carlos Hyde and Lamar Miller hitting free agency, but the Hopkins trade created a lot of animosity within the franchise and the fan base, considering derided Texans head coach Bill O’Brien was already on the hot seat, and because Hopkins is a 28-year-old still in the prime of his career.

In the offseason, the Texans notably added wide receiver Randall Cobb from the Cowboys, and safety Eric Murray from the Browns.

The Texans are 50-1 odds to win the Super Bowl, 7/2 to win the AFC South, 5/4 to make the playoffs, and their OVER/UNDER for wins is 7.5.
