WWE legend Marty Jannetty may have admitted to killing somebody in a bizarre since-deleted Facebook post. Jannetty wrote that when he was 13 years old, somebody tried to sexually assault him behind a bowling alley in Columbus, Georgia. He did not go into much detail but said that he defended himself and made his alleged assailant disappear.
"That was the very first time I made a man disappear," he wrote. "They shoulda looked in the [Chattahoochee] River."
The Chattahoochee runs along the border between Georgia and Alabama and passes through Columbus, which is where Jannetty grew up.
Authorities in Columbus were told about the post and have launched an investigation into the incident, which would have occurred in 1973.
"The first step will be seeing if we have any missing persons or unidentified remains cases that match the limited information in the post," a Columbus police spokesman told TMZ.
After making the post, Jannetty provided more details about what happened to Boston Wrestling. He explained that the man fondled him in a car, before driving into an alley. When the man pulled down his pants, Jannetty said he attacked him with a brick and eventually killed him. He then dumped the body in the river.
"It was the right thing in that moment, I don't know how else you handle it," he said. "I can't say he deserved to die, but he deserved to get his ass beat. When I was beating him in the head with a brick, I was only trying to beat his ass," Jannetty said. "I wasn't trying to kill him."
