2020 NFL Gambling Previews According to Vegas Sharps: Seattle Seahawks

Listen to NFL Vegas sharps RJ Bell and Steve Fezzik join co-host Jonas Knox on ‘Straight Outta Vegas’ to preview the 8th ranked team on their 2020 win/total prediction rankings, the Seattle Seahawks.

The Seattle Seahawks felt like they were snakebitten at the end of 2019 when their two top running backs in Chris Carson and Rashaad Penny suffered season-ending injuries right on the precipice of the postseason.

Seattle ran the football the 6th most times in the NFL last year, ranked 4th in rushing yards, and coupled with Russell Wilson’s pristine 106.3 passer rating, were arguably the league’s most smash mouth offense last year, and the biggest threat to the NFC world-beating San Francisco 49ers.

Seattle split with San Francisco in two of the most exciting games of the 2019 season, including a Week 17 de facto NFC West championship that saw the game end on the final play and on the one-inch yard line.

Despite owning the ground in 2019, Seattle brought in potential Hall of Fame tight end Greg Olsen to join blossoming young star receiver DK Metcalf, and the underrated Tyson Lockett to give Russell Wilson his best shot at winning a Super Bowl since the Legion of Boom years.

Speaking of the Legion of Boom, Seattle’s trade of Jets All-Pro safety Jamal Adams was arguably the biggest move of the entire offseason minus Tom Brady signing with Tampa. Seattle hasn’t been a top 10 defense in three straight seasons, and ranked 31st in the league in sacks last year.

Seattle’s key acquisitions included the aforementioned Adams and Olsen, running back Carlos Hyde from the Texans, wide receiver Phillip Dorsett from the Patriots, right tackle Brandon Shell from the Jets, defensive end Bruce Irvin from the Panthers, and cornberack Quinton Dunbar from the Redskins.

Their notable losses included Ed Dickson, George Fant, Justin Britt, Germain Ifedi, DJ Fluker, Quinton Jefferson, Tedric Thompson, and Bradley McDougald.

Seattle’s over/under for wins is 9.5, their odds to win the Super Bowl are 20/1, their odds to win the NFC are 10/1, their odds to win the NFC West are 11/5, and they’re -128 to make the playoffs.
