Colin Cowherd Names the Only Two Teams in the NFL Who Can Beat Kansas City

Colin Cowherd: “Beyond the obvious butt-kicking last night, the first thing I’m thinking is ‘HOW DO YOU BEAT KANSAS CITY??’ I think there are two teams in the league who can do something. It’s nice to have a little bit of a running game so you can take the ball out of Kansas City’s hands and eat the clock. The great way to beat great quarterbacks is keep them on the bench. But what’s more important is getting to Mahomes without blitzing. The two teams in the league who I’ve seen that can get pressure without blitzing and have a quarterback good enough to be a headache is New England with Cam, and Tampa with Brady. Once Mahomes figured out how to read a defense, blitzes no longer worked. They didn’t work against Peyton Manning in his prime, they didn’t work against Tom Brady, and they’re not working against Mahomes… This is what the New York Giants did to beat the undefeated Patriots with Tom Brady. That wasn’t about Eli Manning, Eli had one great throw, that was about getting massive pressure with four, and then dropping seven into coverage, so Tom was hurried, and throwing into seven defenders. If you look at what Tampa can do with Vita Vea, Ndamukong Suh, Shaq Barrett, and JPP, they’ll get heat and they have an amazing linebacking corps. Tampa doesn’t have to blitz and they’ll get heat. New England now doesn’t need to blitz and they can get heat. Then augment that with a nice little running game with Cam, Sony Michel, or Rex Burkhead, and with Tampa you go Leonard Fournette and Ronald Jones.” (Full Segment Above)

Listen to Colin Cowherd explain why he thinks the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with Tom Brady, and the New England Patriots with Cam Newton are the only two teams in the NFL who can beat Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs, a night after Kansas City demolished Lamar Jackson’s Ravens.

Check out the video above as Colin details what components that Tampa and New England offer that can stifle and counter the Chiefs’ strengths.
