Watch Brian Sutterer, a resident doctor specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation, break down the cringeworthily Conor McGregor injury that occurred over the weekend at UFC 264.
The UFC legend broke both his tibia and fibula at some point during his PPV showdown vs. his long-time rival Dustin Poirier, but with 10-seconds left in the first round, fans witnessed the worst part of the injury when McGregor’s leg finally gave out and snapped.
Theories began to circulate on social media about when McGregor possibly suffered the initial fracture that would later turn into a serious compound break, resulting in McGregor needing three and a half hours of surgery following the fight.
McGregor passionately said after the fight 'IT'S NOT OVER', leading many to believe there could be a fourth fight between the 33-year-old and Poirier.
UFC President Dana White speculated that McGregor would return to the Octagon someday, telling TMZ ‘he’ll be back in a year.”
Check out the video above as Sutterer gives his analysis on what really happened to one of the most iconic figures in combat fighting history.
