Why Steph Curry Will Never Win Another Championship

Jason Smith: “Steph Curry went on to say that the dynasty was ‘back’, but is it really back?? IT’S NOT. I said last week that it was more Golden State ‘squeaking out one more’ than the ‘dynasty is back.’ It’s great to say ‘THEY HAVE ALL THESE YOUNG PLAYERS AND THEY’RE ALL COMING BACK!’ – yeah, you know what? LOTS of teams have young players coming back. The ‘dynasty’ is Steph, Draymond, and Klay and they’re getting old, and when they’re old the dynasty is DONE. They’re 33, 34, 35, this is not a ‘dynasty’, this was ‘they squeaked one out.’ Look at the NBA the last three years, three years ago Steph, Klay, and Draymond weren’t enough to win the NBA Finals. Two more years have gone by and now Steph, Klay, and Draymond, and a couple of support players – and it’s not like Andrew Wiggins shot up and scored 30 a game, and Jordan Poole was a Sixth Man of the Year…NO. These guys were good, they were very good, and I give them all the credit in the world because they were able to bring in the right support to win. But the NBA has not grown and the NBA has not gotten better... Three years ago what the Warriors had wasn’t enough to win but now three years later it is. We’re at a point in the league where the older stars are fading away. Winning is not as important as it once was to LeBron, AD, KD, Kyrie, and Harden… The Warriors squeaked one in before the new players start to take over. Ja and Luka are going to take over, Giannis already has a title, and the NEW stars are coming. This title was ‘hey, there is a little bit of a transition phase from the old guys where winning isn’t that big of a deal anymore as what they do off the court.’ But you need a little bit of time for the young players to get settled where they're ready to start winning championships. This was one of those ‘in-between’ years and so the Golden State Warriors had enough for one more title. Dynasty coming back? NO. They squeaked out one title, and starting next year you’re going to see the young players of the next generation really start to take over.” (Full Segment Above)

Listen to Jason Smith of Fox Sports Radio explain why the idea of a reloaded Golden State Warriors ‘dynasty’ is a complete farce, as Smith says the Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green big three ‘squeaked one out’ during a down period of star-driven teams.

Check out the segment above as Smith details why next season with be the beginning of a ‘new generation’ in the NBA, and one that will effectively retire these Warriors from ever winning another ring.
