Colin Cowherd Says This Blockbuster NBA Trade Could Shake Up the Sport

Colin Cowherd: “According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, conversations between Kyrie Irving and the Brooklyn Nets are going nowhere. There are things the Brooklyn Nets need and what they don’t need is a lousy defender who shows up occasionally, can be brittle, and can’t defend. This is a HUGE break for the Lakers. Do the Lakers have the courage to move off Anthony Davis? Think about it from the Nets side, what do they need? Giannis, Embiid, Bam Adebayo, Robert Williams, you need SIZE. You don’t need that as much out West with the Warriors, small ball wins. The Suns are going to get rid of DeAndre Ayton. You need bigs in the East and what is Anthony Davis? He’s a big and a tremendous defender, and increasingly I like his defense better than his offense. KD goes from flaky Kyrie to about the most chill dude in the entire NBA, Anthony Davis. What do the Lakers need? The Lakers need shooters, they need somebody who can play off the ball, and when LeBron goes to the bench can be point guard. Too many people are worried about Westbrook, that contract is going to be up in a year. It’s over with AD. He’s not committed, he’s brittle, and he’s declining. There is no proof that Kyrie is declining, Kyrie is just flaky, but he acknowledged last month that the LeBron breakup was his fault. LeBron can not only lead the league in scoring still but he will create. LeBron is a Magic Johnson-level passer that will get you great three-ball looks but AD is not a three-shooter. Kyrie solves an issue. The Knicks, Clippers, and Lakers are all reportedly interested in Kyrie, but what do the Lakers have that the Clippers and Lakers don’t? A STAR to give you back and exactly what you need back to make this deal work.” (Full Segment Above)
