Watch NFL Network analyst and former Green Bay Packers wide receiver Bucky Brooks release his third mock draft of the offseason with the 2024 NFL Draft just a little under a month away on April 25th.
The biggest surprise on Brooks’ board was LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels going no. 2 to the Washington Commanders, as most mocks had North Carolina QB Drake Maye as the second pick.
Brooks has Maye dropping all the way to no. 12 to the Minnesota Vikings.
Maye’s plummet includes Michigan QB J.J. McCarthy vaulting all the way to no. 3, with the New England Patriots taking the reigning National Championship signal-caller who has controversially been the draft’s biggest riser this offseason.
Brooks has three star-studded receivers – Marvin Harrison Jr. [ARI], Malik Nabers [NYG], and Rome Odunze [CHI] going in the top 10, with other notable wide receivers Keon Coleman from Florida State, and Tony Franklin of Oregon falling out of the first round.
Brooks believes Alabama defensive end Dallas Turner will be the first defensive player off the board at no. 8 to Atlanta, with the Crimson Tide leading the way with four projected first-rounders.
Pac-12 stars Michael Penix Jr., and Bo Nix dropped out of the first round on Brooks’ mock, as the two Heisman finalists were the odd men out in a deep quarterback draft that will also feature South Carolina’s Spencer Rattler, Tennessee's Joe Milton, and Tulane’s Michael Pratt.
