The NFL and the NBA are very different beasts when it comes to stockpiling draft picks and taking a chance in the offseason with young players. In the NFL, where there are more years of scouting research, draft picks have a higher success rate than in the NBA, where players are coming out almost fresh off their High School Prom Night.
So by stockpiling picks, Danny Ainge isn't necessarily making the Celtics better. At least not with his own success rate in the draft.
