One Major Sign Points to LeBron joining the Lakers

Rich Paul is the agent of KCP (Kentavious Caldwell Pope, but we're not typing that out a bunch of times), the man who the Detroit Pistons just parted ways with, and is an integral part of the NBA Landscape due to his connection to best friend LeBron James.

Now, here is where the conspiracy gets fun.

If the Lakers overpay for KCP, say something like 1 year and $22 Million, giving Rich Paul some side money and a good deal on one of his lesser-known clients, he might do them a solid and pitch the Los Angeles Lakers to his best friend LeBron James. The Lakers would be able to save face for one season by acquiring a good player on a loan, clear the cap space for the push next summer, and possibly move out of the bottom five in the NBA and keep their pick in next year's NBA Draft.

Are you intrigued yet?

Only in NBA Free Agency can the future of the world's best player hinge on a guy named Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. What a world, but this is a real situation.

For more on this rumor, Colin Cowherd called in Ric Bucher to talk about the feeling around the league regarding the LeBron James situation in Cleveland.

"The consensus around the league is that LeBron James is as good as gone."
