Reddit Users Scoop MLB Trade News

Cleveland Indians v Detroit Tigers

CSN Chicago - Wednesday night around 9 p.m., a rumor, just like any other run-of-the-mill rumor, started climbing on the front page of the White Sox subreddit.

Okay, you read the first sentence from this CSN Chicago report. Pretty normal so far, wonder what we're going to get from this story.

User KatyPerrysBootyHole posted this cryptic message --

Wait hold up. Before you go any further. WHAT IS THAT USERNAME?!? Am I even allowed to write this? Will I get in trouble? Is this news? Anyways...

“Hey, take this with a grain of salt, but I heard from a friend who’s brothers [sic] friend works for the cubs (sounds like bulls**t I know), that Q is going to the cubs in exchange for 4 players. Has anyone heard anything similar?”

Okay so I'm supposed to believe that two people on Reddit scooped all the MLB writing and reporting staff in the country on this trade because someone works for the Cubs? That's insane.

But then, KatyPerrysBootyHole’s source, wetbutt23 joined the thread to confirm. “4 prospects. No pros. Players were meeting with doctors and will be official tonight or tomorrow.”

I'm gonna need proof of this.

Well, there it is. Maybe the craziest thing in the world of sports going on right now involves two random Reddit users who caught wind of a major MLB deal, put it on social media under two absolutely ridiculous usernames, and get credit.

Congratulations Wetbutt23 and KatyPerrysBootyHole.
