Ohio State Fan in Coma STILL Hates Michigan

NCAA FOOTBALL: DEC 31 CFP Semifinal - Fiesta Bowl - Ohio State v Clemson

The Guardian - An Ohio man who returned to the US in a coma after suffering a traumatic brain injury in a car accident overseas has given his family hope – by making clear his dislike for the state of Michigan.

This story was in The Guardian today and involves an Ohio State Fan who gave his family hope through some good old rivalry hatred. Doctors told the family of Zach Lawrence, a 38-year-old man, that he would possibly never wake up again and would be on a feeding tube for as many as 12 months. Then, this happened:

Four months later, though, Lawrence was asked to press a “yes” or “no” button in answer to the question of whether or not he liked Michigan. To the delight of his family, the lifelong Ohio State football fan hit “no” twice.

The rivalry that Ohio State and Michigan share on the football field needs no introduction to an audience such as yourselves, so you understand the magnitude of this.

Imagine not knowing if your husband was "there" while in a Coma, and having all those hours be spent in speculation about conversation and silence and the difference to your husband, and then he's like... how would she know it's really me in here? I know, MICHIGAN STILL SUCKS.

Lawrence has begun making sounds, keeping his eyes open and smiling at his children, the newspaper reported. Lawrence is also able to give a thumbs up, stand on a treadmill and hold a crayon or pencil, the better to color with his six-year-old daughter, Adrianne, and four-year-old son, Donovan.

So freaking awesome, man. What a great story and one that we hope has a happy ending for the Lawrence family. Go Buckeyes this time around!
