Seattle Fans Need to Shut Up About the Sonics

“Seattle, you have two other teams, you have the Mariners, you have the Seahawks, you’ve won a Super Bowl – I’m really sorry you don’t have an NBA team as well, but you still have stuff to do. I’m from Hartford, there’s nothing to do. There’s literally tumbleweed rolling through the streets of Hartford on Friday nights now without the Whalers.”

With all the talk about one of the league’s most popular defunct franchises making a comeback someday, Aaron Torres wants Seattle fans to settle down when it comes to their fiery disdain for their extinct Supersonics and says they should be happy for what they’ve got.

Growing up in Hartford, CT, Torres says he’s never seen grown men cry as much as when the Hartford Whalers played their final NHL game, and that countless other small cities would do anything just to have one professional team, let alone a handful of successful franchises.
