“If there was a magic pill that you could give me right now, I’d go back out and play right now, even with everything I know about concussions and CTE. Football is my passion, I love the game, there is nothing like it. “
Former Super Bowl champion linebacker Seth Joyner was on The Herd talking about a recent study that revealed more damning results about the long-term effects tackle football can have on the human brain.
Yet, despite the obvious dangers NFL players face partaking in one of the world’s most violent sports, Joyner says it’s not a game for everyone, and that he wishes he could do it all over again, even when he knows he could risk lifelong adverse health defects.
“There’s no feeling like it,” said Joyner, a three-time All-Pro. “When I walked off the field for the final time knowing that that was it, I realized that I would never, ever, in this lifetime feel what I felt that day ever again.”
