In a story that seems made for The Onion, but is actually true, ESPN decided to pull an Asian college football announcer named Robert Lee off the University of Virginia vs. William & Mary broadcast because the game was being played in Charlottesville and they were worried some of their viewers would be unable to differentiate Robert Lee, the Asian college football announcer, from Robert E. Lee, the Confederate General, and would become offended.
Seriously. We can't make this up.
This might go down in history as the dumbest thing ESPN has ever done, and Clay Travis is here to take them to task. #GetYourPopcornReady
