Jason Smith doesn’t believe the Week 1 matchup between Tampa Bay and Miami should’ve been rescheduled for Week 11, with the teams conveniently sharing the same bye week.
Not only does Smith argue the idea of player safety, forcing the two teams to unwillingly play 16 consecutive games without a week off, but the fact the victims of the impending category 5 Hurricane Irma could have potentially found a sanctuary upstate and inland to see their favorite teams play.
Smith says the NFL missed a big marketing opportunity to donate all ticket sales from the relocated game to Hurricane relief funds and thinks the league dropped the ball on making plans around the Hurricane set to hit Florida later this week.
