USA Today ran an article moments ago in which this line was featured.
“It’s fair to say the LVMPD is continuing to investigate whether Mr. Bennett was involved in the altercation at the hotel casino prior to his detention on Las Vegas Boulevard,” Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department spokesperson Larry Hadfield told USA TODAY Sports on Thursday.
It is not ours.
We are not the ones reporting on it.
We are not the people the police contacted.
However, with the recent coverage Clay Travis has been dedicating on this topic for Fox Sports Radio, it's worth noting that this article goes hand in hand with some of the things he has been saying about Michael Bennett and the role he played in the incident in Las Vegas.
The NFL, for the moment, is NOT conducting their own investigation of Michael Bennett and support him via a statement they made earlier this week. This was also from the USA Today article regarding the NFL and possibly looking into this themselves.
“There is no allegation of a violation of the league’s personal conduct policy and therefore there is no basis for an NFL investigation,” NFL spokesperson Brian McCarthy said in an email to USA TODAY Sports Thursday in response to the police union letter.
Either way, this situation continues to get uglier for all sides. Whoever comes out of this as the "loser" (because only one side can be telling the truth) will have a lot of answering to do.
Michael Bennett and the Seattle Seahawks have football to play. I'd like to believe we can get to watch that without any of this getting involved.
One can only hope.
