Greatness doesn't come around that often, and it's not something you want to distance yourself from when you're surrounded by it. The same logic applies to Kyrie Irving's decision to leave LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. LeBron James isn't just the best player on the planet, he might be the greatest player of all time. Kyrie's decision to leave Cleveland for a team he could lead on his own, however, may just become the greatest regret of all time.
Once-in-a-generation players reward you in ways that aren't ever appreciated and LeBron has never missed long stretches of the season due to injury either. With the loss of Gordon Hayward after the first game of the season, possibly for the season, Kyrie Irving has quickly realized there are players that you just never abandon, no matter what the scenario.
