Lonzo Ball's Laker debut wasn't as great as most had hoped. Lonzo was shut down by the Clippers and Patrick Beverley for much of the night and Jason Smith has a theory as to why the young Lakers' first game in the NBA didn't go as planned.
All summer LaVar Ball touted his son as the next best thing in the NBA, even called out some of the best NBA players in the process. This added pressure and cockiness by the elder Ball was probably noticed by the entire league which will only fuel whomever is guarding the Lonzo on a nightly basis practically painitng a target on his son's back.
The Jason Smith Show w/ Michael Harmon is on Fox Sports Radio Monday through Friday 8-11 PM PT
