Cam Newton left the podium at a press conference on Wednesday over a seemingly benign question was asked by a reporter. The Panthers quarterback has shown himself to difficult to work with when things don't go his way, and his dismissive nature isn't only a turnoff to fans and media, but the organization as well.
For a quarterback, he lacks one of the major qualities that is needed in such a leadership position: maturity. By becoming a nuisance to the media and the league, Newton is tarnishing his opportunity to remain associated with the NFL long after his career is over. All of the problems he has caused due to his lack of maturity adds up to a narrative that will cause many to disassociate from as soon as possible.
