Yuli Gurriel was captured making a racist gesture about opposing pitcher Yu Darvish. If he is found to have intentionally made a racist gesture, MLB will have to suspend him. It is no longer enough to fine a player. If Rob Manfred and Major League Baseball don’t suspend him, the story will take over the World Series.
The sport can’t afford to have negative attention surrounding them during the most exciting time of the season. The best thing they can do is get right out in front of it, and suspend Gurriel in the early part of the 2018 season.
