LiAngelo Ball and two of his UCLA teammates were arrested in China for shoplifting on Tuesday. According to some sources, Ball and his teammates could face 3-10 years in Chinese prison if convicted to the fullest extent of the law.
When thinking of this story, Clay Travis recalls the California State Legislature that prohibits state-funded and state-sponsored travel to states that have discriminatory laws. The fact that UCLA was in China proves the hypocrisy of this law considering that China isn't exactly known for being a world leader in human rights. Not to mention, if this shoplifting incident had happened anywhere in the U.S, the players would be facing a lot less serious consequences.
