What Were The Bears Thinking in 2014?

One of the biggest stories in the NFL is the release of former Green Bay Packers TE Martellus Bennett. Bennett has been on five teams in his ten seasons in the league and if this latest situation is any indication, Bennett tends to wear out his welcome pretty quickly. So then why in 2014, was Bennett a key piece on the Chicago Bears? The team also consisted of Jay Cutler and Brandon Marshall, and was expected to be one of the better teams in the NFC that season. The Bears wound up finishing the season at 5-11 and finished the season with a great deal of dysfunction.

Jonas Knox looks back at this team after Bennett's latest departure from a team. He wonders how anyone thought this would actually considering that both Marshall and Bennett are basically the same guy.
