Don't Believe the Bennett Brothers

Martellus Bennett Michael Bennett

Earlier this season, Seahawks defensive lineman Michael Bennett made headlines when he put out a tweet suggesting that he was racially profiled by members of the Las Vegas Police Department during an altercation over the summer. Shortly thereafter, several videos of the incident were released which effectively disproved his story.

Last week, his brother, tight end Martellus Bennett, was released by the Packers for failing to disclose a shoulder injury. Martellus vehemently denied the Packers' claims, arguing that the team doctors actually tried to force him to play through the injury, and only decided to waive him after he decided to have season-ending surgery. In a stunning turn of events, Martellus suddenly felt well enough to put off surgery and play out the season after he was claimed off waivers by the Patriots.

Clay Travis says the Bennett brother's reckless allegations (which sound more like outright lies to him) over the past few months should be condemned, and he wouldn't be surprised to see either man face defamation lawsuits in the future.
