The Alabama Crimson Tide overcame a 4th-quarter deficit to defeat the Georgia Bulldogs in a thrilling, overtime College Football Playoff National Championship, by a score of 26-23. Nick Saban's sixth national championship didn't come easy, however. Starting quarterback Jalen Hurts was ineffective in the first half, leaving Saban to make an incredibly gutsy and somewhat questionable move; he pulled his starting quarterback for a true freshman in the Championship game.
It proved to be not only the right move, but possibly the greatest coaching move of all-time. Tua Tagovailoa threw for 3 touchdowns, including a 41-yard game-winner to fellow freshman DeVonta Smith in overtime.
