Why Does Mike Tomlin Always Escape Scrutiny?

Why Does Mike Tomlin Always Escape Scrutiny?

One of the greatest story lines during the the NFL season is the emergence of the Jacksonville Jaguars led by that young elite defense and their undying support for Blake Bortles.  The Jaguars already routed the Steelers earlier in the season, and a lot of talk was made of their desired rematch with most experts thinking the Steelers would get their revenge on the "overachieving" cats from Florida.  Well it's obvious now that the Jaguars aren't overachieving, and that defense is as overwhelming as any we've seen throughout the NFL.

The Steelers looked over matched and unprepared the moment the game started.  The Jaguars defense was aggressive all day, Blake Bortles played solid, and despite 5 touchdowns from Ben Roethlisberger, spotty play calling ended any chance for the Steelers to actually win that game.  Colin says Mike Tomlin failed in front of the entire nation yesterday, looking unprepared and undisciplined, but yet the narrative isn't about his shortcomings.  He doesn't understand why Tomlin continues to avoid any major public scrutiny even when his mistakes are on full display.
