Shortly after former MSU doctor Larry Nassar was sentenced to 40 to 175 years in prison for multiple sex crimes against over 100 girls and women, Michigan State University President Lou Anna Simon announced her resignation. While Nassar certainly brought a stain upon Michigan State athletics, Simon seemed dismissive of any responsibility placed upon herself. Her refusal to accept her role in the destruction the case has brought on the school is negligent and her words felt tone-deaf.
