Reports earlier this week quoted John Lynch as saying that the 49ers are "absolutely" in the process of trying to sign Jimmy Garoppolo to a long term contract. Ben Maller thinks that Jimmy G should wait a bit before signing anything. Garoppolo has all of the leverage and can squeeze as much money as possible out of the 49ers or force them to use the franchise tag.
